Call for Student Volunteers

Student volunteer activities include, but are not limited to helping with packing bags, setting up signs, badge checks, helping with on-site registration, ushering, photocopying, small errands, and assisting with audiovisual equipment. Student volunteers will receive free conference registration (including the reception and meals), a shared-occupancy hotel room, and potentially some support with travel expenses.

Student volunteers may not be able to attend all sessions and may also have to arrive a day or two before the conference start date. However, we will work to schedule volunteer time around the students' needs so we can to help interested students attend.

Being a student volunteer at ISWC is a fantastic opportunity to interact with the wearable community, even without financial support from your university. If you are interested or know a student who is interested in becoming a student volunteer, please send e-mail by August 31st to sv07@iswc.net with the following information:

  • Name and Contact Details
  • Advisor, Department and University
  • Research interests
  • Degree program (Doctoral/Masters/Undergrad)
  • Have you ever attended ISWC or ISMAR before?
  • Have you ever been a student volunteer at a conference? Which one?
  • Do you have any special skills? (audio/visual equipment, wireless networking equipment, data entry, etc.)
  • If required, would you be willing to come to the conference location one day early to help with conference arrangements?
